IDT Installs N-3 into Hydraulic Sled at Delphi Testing Facility
VANDALIA, Ohio — Integrated Design Tools, Inc. (IDT) worked with Delphi Corporation to install the N-3 high-speed camera into the company’s safety testing facility in Vandalia, Ohio. A leading global supplier of mobile electronics and transportation systems, Delphi utilizes a hydraulic sled mount to capture crash test footage. The company selected IDT’s compact, versatile N-3 camera for the system, allowing for the simultaneous capture of multiple crash views.
“IDT enjoyed the challenge and opportunity to provide a solution for Delphi,” said Dr. Luiz Lourenco, CEO of IDT. “The N-3 was an excellent choice for this project, offering the mass and remote access necessary for hydraulic sled impact testing.”
The N-3 installation took place without any significant changes to the existing Delphi facility. The HG-2000 J-Boxes on the sled were replaced with smaller IDT Hub/Sync units. These units distribute power and network communications to the N-3 camera and have the ability to support and trigger up to seven cameras total, all routed through an umbilical attached to the sled.
Capable of acquiring 2,000 FPS, with a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels, the N-3 can operate independently from a control unit, making it a unique and flexible asset for on-board and off-board automotive testing.
