Science/Medical > Particle Image Velocimetry > Observational Study > Apparatus Design

As long as humanity has been curious, certain vanguards of tomorrow have capitalized on the cutting edge of technology to aid in the discovery of the unknown. Because of the often long-term nature of the sorts of studies within scientific institutions such as universities, funding for the right equipment can become difficult, while in the corporate scientific world, managing resources wisely may also limit the funds for the best gear. Fortunately for all researchers everywhere, the 1990s introduction of the CMOS sensor, and the continuing advancements in microchip technology bring continually better equipment at continually lower prices. IDT's involvement in this process includes in-house research and development of improved sensors and internal design to boost effectiveness and efficiency.

Within the scientific community are a myriad of tests and trials and experiments too numerous to recount in one place, but three major areas of research which include high speed cameras are Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), biological observation and apparatus design. For interests not included herein, the best approach is to contact IDT or a local IDT distributor to discuss individual needs and discover the best camera to accomplish the goal.
