On-board

Cameras mounted inside the vehicles to be crashed are said to be on-board. Cameras inside the test vehicle or platform must be both rugged and compact in order to survive the impact intact. Light sensitivity is also of especial concern given the difficulty of illuminating the confined spaces within which testing occurs. Of additional concern is the portability of the cameras.

To this end, IDT offers the N-Series.

For firms who must have the best, the N4 models provide superior light sensitivity among compact cameras, equivalent to 6000 ISO when outputting mono and 2000 when in color. With three models providing a megapixel array (a resolution of 1016x1016) recording at 1000, 2000 or 3000 frames per second, and the ability to increase speed at lower resolutions, N4 cameras offer the variety and ability necessary to fulfill on-board testing needs.

For firms who must watch their bottom line, IDT offers the N3. Sharing the N4's bit depth and surpassing it in resolution (1280x1024), the N3 only lags behind in light sensitivity, with the equivalent to 3000ISO mono, 1000 color. Like the N4, N3 cameras are able to operate autonomously, triggering at a predetermined time zero.
