For any application requiring the ultimate in resolving power and speed, when space and cost are less important than the final image, the Y-Series is IDT's answer. IDT's flagship Y-Series cameras boast speeds twice as fast as the smaller bodies without any reduction in resolution or light sensitivity, and in a soon to be released model, with improved sensitivity.
The larger bodies encasing Y-Series cameras allow for augmented electronics concentration, resulting in an abundance of internal memory (currently 16GB) to use for prolonged events, and speeds of up to 10500 frames per second at megapixel resolution for superlative examination of the fastest moments in time. For precision triggering and accurate data acquisition, IDT offers IRIG-B and GPS time code compatibility on all Y-Series cameras. Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 and HDMI serve as available outputs, allowing for simultaneous real time viewing and control, and with an iPod Touch, iPhone or PDA, users can control the camera wirelessly.
Like all IDT cameras, Y-Series models are rated to withstand 100Gs of shock and 40Gs vibration, allaying the concerns of those whose needs include placing the cameras in riskier environs. In order to minimize motion blur in individual frames, IDT cameras can expose the sensor for as little as 1µs. They also are fully interactive with Motion Studio software and the MotionPro Timing Hub, creating cross compatibility between cameras and complete user customization of a multi- camera system. Currently the Y-Series is composed of three models using three alternate IDT sensors (soon to be four) which vary in terms of the speed, resolution and light sensitivity offered.
Y3 offers a balance of speed, sensitivity and resolution
Y4 is dominated by high speed and sensitivity at the cost of resolution
Y5 is dominated by resolution at the cost of speed and sensitivity
