STS-124 : Delivering Hope
May 31, 2008 STS-124 launched the main segment of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's station laboratory. Kibo, a laboratory complex named for the Japanese word for hope, was so big that it barely fit inside Discovery's payload bay.
